BEST graphics card

I personaly would wait now for the new cards latter this year. DX10 support will be a must when Vista comes out. He also wants to upgrade his proc so this would surely mean waiting for Conroe. This imho is what you should do

There never a good time to upgrade.

If you need a gfx card now then dont wait for DX 10 :confused:

Get 12 months of fast gameplay and enjoy.
 
Does the 7900 do FP16 AntiAliasing - basically HDR & AA at the same time? I know the 7800 didn't do it.

The 7900 is basically using the same architecture as the 7800 so I doubt it although I am not 100% on that. Might be worth googling it.

Plus the way HDR is implemented is more down to the game developer and what SM is used. (HDR in the lost coast is Integer based from sm2.0 so the X8 series could run it unlike the HDR in Oblivion which I believe is SM3.0 based and the X8 series can't run it).
