First off i guess this could belong in the home cinema but more people check this one and will probably be more relevant. Basically i want to get a 32" but for no more than about 500-600 pounds. Ive had a look at the OCuk store and was quite attracted to the OcUK Yusmart 32" HDTV. Was wandering if any one had any opinions on it? The picture in picture thingy sounds pretty cool and that would definately be an added bonus. Oh and being able to plug it into my mack book pro would be awesome as well. Any opinions would be great :)

MY LG 37LC3R has the best PiP I've seen. It allows all inputs (including VGA and DVI) to be displayed on pip in 6 different ways, with simple operation from the remote to adjust PiP size, location, type, inputs and to swap which image is in the main picture.

I'd never go for a random brand TV though.

Loving my Samsung 32" R73. Excellent for 360 I find, but then I have nothing to compare with so it could be rubbish in comparison for all I know :p
They're very good screens if you can put up with the dynamic dimming feature.

do samsung hdtv's have pip when using dvi(hdmi) and vga together?
Samsungs don't like DVI for most PC resolutions and overscan on the HDMI port. I can have PiP on my LG with my 360 via VGA and my PC via HDMI (1360*768 resolution with no overscan). LG design their TVs to work well as PC monitors.

Or if you disable it? (Dynamic contrast?)
They are designed around the feature so the picture doesn't look as good with it off. I hated the image quality with it off and I couldn't put up with it, but most people can.

I'd definately go for the LG over the samsung for the reasons Kreee listed. Yet the LG features tend to be overlooked and for some reason the samsung is the reasonable priced LCD that sells well.

If you want to plug the pc in as well LG.

My Samsung does 1440x900 PC resolution and does my 360 in 1080i, it's got 1 VGA, 1 DVI, 1 Component, 1 Composite and 1 Scart slots at the back.

cheers for the comments so far guys, does any one have any knowledge of the one i mentioned in my previous post? or knows of any good review sites which can aid me in my decision

I would personally go for the LG over the Samsung for the features listed, but thats just me. What you really need to do is read up on the pro's and con's of each (which you seem to be doing) then go down to the well known highstreet electronic stores (can't be named for obvious reasons) and comepare them and decide which you want, then go back home and order it online since the highstreet is a rip-off :D

The Yusmart I've had no experience with, but it seems to be value for money. Remember though you get what you pay for so don't expect it to be beating the likes of Sony, Panasonic etc. The Yusmart would probably fall below the Samsung and LG, but for that price you cannot complain.

I wanted a Yusmart myself last month, but after seeing the Sony KDL-32V2000 and Panasonic TX-32LXD600 in action compared to the likes of Samsung, LG, Toshiba etc I decided I won't settle for anything less then either of those.

Get yourself the Toshiba 32WLT66...great TV, we have the 37 and the 32 will be well within budget. 2 x HDMI sockets as well so you wont have hassle in the future connecting many HD products up to it :)

Go see one on display in a store. It's where the brightness of the screen is adjusted on the fly to suite dark/light scenes. The problem is there's about half a second lag so when a dark scene changes to a light scene (or vice versa) you get an annoying second flicker after the scene has changed.

That is annoying by itself but when a scene is borderline between 2 different brightnesses that samsung have pre-determined the screen will flicker rapidly until the scene changes and that just completely ruined the TV for me.

On the newer N series this feature cannot be turned off but on the R series you could turn it off and sacrifice a lot of picture quality.

This may not bother you so go check it out for your self.

Edit: All screens have problems as all companies cut as many corners as they can to maximise profit. LG TVs have a fantastic engine for refining the image and are designed to work very well as DVI/VGA PC monitors and that's why they got my money.
