What are some of the best quality headphones to use with my iPod?

I have only tried Beats so far (both solo HD and Studio) And they sounded decent, but i am told there is much better available out there.

I will mostly be listening to House/Techno/tech House/Minimal

So need something with good clean bass and and something that can play all the various sound effects common in these genres very clearly

For now i will say the budget is 100-200 but i can go higher if its worth it.

So this is for portable use outdoors? Would you consider IEMs?

Depending on what you are willing to wear on your head outside (without feeling silly) you should look into these headphones:

Sennheiser HD25
Ultrasone DJ1
Denon D1100
AKG K181DJ
Phiaton MS400
Audio Technica ATH-M50

After looking at these, i was liking the sennheisers, but have just seen a review saying they are not iPhone compatible, what would be different about an iphone which makes them not compatible?

Not iphone compatible? That probably just means they don't have a remote and mic - ofcourse the sound will work. Most good headphones won't have these as they are usually found on the consumer-orientated stuff that has the "Made for iPhone/iPod" badge plastered on it.

Always wondered if my SoundMagic PL11's have a mic, can have the earphones in and the phone in my back pocket and the caller can still hear me crystal clear, that or I speak out of my ass

Yeah i did think that. And i have also changed my mind now! after still looking around at reviews i have decided to get the Phiaton MS400 as it seems they are very good without an amp, and they look nice too:)
