So whats the best HL2 mods around at the moment, I got tired of playing HL2 Deathmatch and playing the game, want to try a HL2 mod now

lol used to love garrys mod until they decided to make you buy it

i didnt justify buying it compared to the amount of time i actually spent playing on it.

Hidden source is quite good fun, but Garry's mod is probably my favourite.

Hidden Source, SourceForts, Empires, Eternal Silence, Goldeneye Source and Pirates, Vikings and Knights II are the ones ive played.

Id recommend them all!

I just so happened to download and play this last night!

Very well put together and fun

I'm trying to get my head around the Hammer editor right now so I can try making my own maps.

Its not out yet and god knows when it will finally come out but Fortress Forever looks spiffing. Its a remake of TFC (Second most popular online game of all time) made by old TFC players (some of which i used to play against back in the day) well worth keeping your eye on for release.

Best of all its free

Good luck, it can be highly frustrating at times!!

edit: ONE tip, use the grid wisely. Draw big walls on grid 64, and normal walls on 32 or 16. Don't use grid size 1 to draw walls etc, keep the scale of the wall/ceiling/floor in check with the grid size. This will save a LOT of grief as you continue to build.

oh, one more tip. Hit Z to quickly flip in to fly mode in 3d. Makes it quick for editing.
