diatomaceous earth in a puffer bottle over the cats fur and/or in a bed it lays in.
This... sort of - dust it over the carpets, particularly round the skirting and edges of furniture. We had a bad infestation a few years ago, tried bombs, spray, treated all the cats, but they kept coming back until we used this.
It's completely non-toxic (although you probably want to avoid breathing it in!). Just turn off the PC first, as it's an extremely fine powder, and WILL get sucked through any filters (don't ask how I know this...
)Best off treating the source AND the house. Frontline used to be really good for treating the animals, But i'm sure i read it wasn't as efficient anymore
Frontline is pants, as are any of the off-brand treatments using the same active ingredient (Fipronil) - seems the little **** have built up a resistance over the years. What you want is Advantage, which uses imidacloprid, it's what our vet issue, but you can buy it over the counter/online, for ~£12 for 4 doses.
However, as others have already said, don't treat the cat if it isn't yours, as you have no idea if the owner is also treating it.
