Just bought a 2nd hand QX6800 Extreme for use in a 2nd system. What's the best HSF for this quad. Money not really an object (within reason) and not interested in water cooling just yet before anyone suggests it.

It needs to fit an Asus P5Q Deluxe without modding!

Any suggestions welcomed.

Im running a Freezer 7 with my current CPU (QX6700 extreme) but im sure there is something better out there.

Is the Scythe Ninja II up to the job?

Cheers :)

Tuniq Tower on This Week Only.

Or the Coolermaster V8.

Or the Titan Amanda TEC Cooler.

Or the Scythe Ninja Copper.

OMG :O that Coolermaster V8 looks unbelievable! Is it any good or just a gimmick?

Too many choices now Ha Ha

I better get Googleing for reviews.

Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Cooler, keeps coming out tops or thereabouts in every review i have read.
And i of course have been using one for 2 years now.

Runs my [email protected] idle 35c and in the area of 48c 50c when gaming.
One scythe fan blowing through to exhaust fans at rear of case, and that is in a Gigabyte 3d Aurora which are not great for airflow.
The only reason that i would ever change it is to water cool.
My next project.

I am sure with better airflow i could drop the temps a few degrees more.

After a quick google search the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme seems to be the one to go for (as suggested above). Now I have to decide what is the best fan to fit on it! Anyone tried a Sharkoon Silent Eagle 2000 with it?

I do not here my Scythe S-Flex fan above the fans cooling my 8800gtx.
and if you do you can always turn them down.

This cooler is in a class of its own when overclocking.
