ive been looking around and there are very few i7 mobos that have pcie slots that give you a gap between xfired cards, from waht ive seen and can make out, the majority are sat right on top of each other.
why to they make the like this ?
in a lot of cases your loosing a pci slot as the cards are 2 slot sized, so why not have the mobos made in a way that your cards are fairly well spaced. ?

Rampage III Extreme thats out soon :).

It has optimal spacing for two cards, giving 3 slots for each one, plus a slot inbetween for a PCI-E soundcard.

yes ive seen the rampage, but thats going to be a tad on the £££ side
im mostly talking about the mainstream offerings we see for sale on here and elsewere

yeah ssen the asus
not good tho is it really when a lot of people do use xfire and sli and have to stack there gfx cards ontop of each other

Nope, Ive had a card fail from that because it was getting far too hot. I have a side fan now using the Zalman bracket and my temps arent going crazy anymore.

Ive been wanting 3 slot spacing for each card with space for a soundcard for a long time, so thats why I'm excited about the new Asus board, also since I can add a couple of beefy VGA coolers too.

Cheapest boards with Dual slot spacing but with 4 pci-e gfx card slots are the ASrock x58 deluxe and extreme boards.

Otherwise you are looking at around £340 for the Asus P6T7 or aprox £390 for the EVGA Classified 4-Way :(

Think I'm gonna go with the p6td deluxe
this has the spacing. And I can still use my xfi card too.

It's either that or don't worry about the spacing and get ud5
