As per title really! My music collection is in a real mess and need to get it in line with my movies/series.

What would people say is the best tag editor?

Many thanks

I use the snappily named "MP3tag".

It's done the job for the past 5 or 6 years for me if I remember correctly.

The Zune software was the best, if you can still install it. It's sort of like MusicBrainz Picard but with a professional interface, and will tag a totally untagged album based upon file lengths, which little else will do.

I use MP3Tag too. Simple but quick and reliable. Pretty certain it can pick up tags from amazon/freedb etc too, which is handy. I've used it to sort out my 50gb library without getting too miserable!

I use Bliss, it's automated and absolutely excellent. It's not free though but if you have a large library it works well.

It'll also embed cover art.

Another vote here for MP3tag on Windows. I just use XLD and iTunes built in ID3 editors which covers all bases on OS X, and for Linux I use EasyTag which is a clone of MP3tag.

mp3tag.

I feel a tinge of sympathy for the people who think they have tagged everything in iTunes, which for reasons of Apple insanity tends to only update a local register not the actual files.

MP3 tag will do this too. I can't recall ever not getting the track data for raw files.

Agreed. I'll rip in any software (MP3) and then process with mp3tag. Always knowing that whatever device I then put the files on I'll get the correct data and album art.
