Despite coming from up that way myself, I've been South of the border too long and not clued up on whats the best. I still go up a fair bit but dont get to that many Indians since the wife isnt keen, so can anyone recommend wheres the best place to go in the city centre.

I'm up there this weekend so fancy going somewhere on the Saturday.

Was thinking Mr Singhs or Cafe India but hoping you guys will have sampled more than I have.

Cheers guys!

The best indian in Glasgow in my opinion is without doubt the Dhabba in Merchant City. Whatever you do, dont goto the sister restaurant (the Dhakin) which is the worst indian in the city! (one is north, one is south, the Dhakin is just plain weird).

My parents went to one of them a while back and despite the fact they love Indian, they werent keen at all, so im assuming it may have been the latter they went to.

Just checekd with the parents, look like they thought much the same as you, they went to the South one and werent keen.

God I miss nice Indians, theres no such thing down here. Some are bearable at best and thats it.

I mean down here, they think Pakora is a cylindrical piece of chicken wrapped in breadcrumbs!!!!

Its making me hungry reading through the menus.

Aye funnily enough just seen that place last time we were in Glasgow, went to the restuarant opposite it, the Ubiquitous Chip, which although OT and not an Indian, I would thoroughly recomend.

Well got plenty to try whenever i'm back in Glasgow. For this trip i'm going to go to Dhabba.

Cheers guys.

Its looking like we'll going on Saturday but at lunchtime, got a family do on the night time which is the reason were up there this weekend. So looks like i'll just miss you.

Got relegated to the Sat lunch since the wife wants to go back to Gamba on the Friday night. Which is another one I'd reccomend if anyone likes seafood.

Really need to get myself up there more often. At least i'll replenish my stock of haggis, square sausage and plain bread!

Used to be ideal as my brother has a flat on George Square but its had students in it for the past year.
