Afternoon folks, wanting an induction kit for my ep2. Have today declared my mods and it come to the pricey sum of 38 pounds for the year for new seats spoiler and wheels. Been quoted 12 pounds to declare my induction kit. So dont give us the whole undeclared mods are illegal or wait til your old enough to afford to get them done etc.
Anyways ive read up and im hearing the pipercross viper is a good cold air intake for the civic... k and n is no good as it requires more maintenance and decreases power. Its mainly the sound im after a boost on. Other mods ive done is just type r leather interior type r ep3 alloys and type r roof wing spoiler.
Budget is anything really, im not expecting much if any bhp gains, its just slight noise and better driving comfort.
Any other mods I can consider? Ive got a type r exhaust thst I can put on but thinking of other things. Thanks
Stephen

Just the back box? I doubt any else of it will fit, surely? If just the back box is it not visually the same as the back box on the Sport EP2's anyway?

Have a look on epcivic.com for your induction question, plenty of EP2 owners on there. :)

On the EP3 Type-R it was unquestionably the GruppeM, it cost me £700 from Japan and I never resented a single penny of it. The sound was incredible.

The obvious answer as said is gruppem or the cheaper teigiwa(sp?)

If your purely after sound then look at the pipercross venom rather than the viper. The viper is better looking but the venom is a higher flowing unit.

Record EP3 off Youtube, blast it out the speakers

Get an electric super charged one.

not srs

Isn't there bugger all point generally, I just thought it was 17 years that did this?

Gains are there to be had with good Intake Systems.

The only one I can remember from my days of working at Pipercross is the Mk6 Golf and it gained around 8bhp when tested by AMD Essex and a slightly bigger gain when mapped.

1. Price of a type r. 2. Insurance cost of a type r. 3. Fuel costs of a type r.

Next car will be a turbo diesel like a fabia or octavia vrs tdi or maybe a golf gt tdi.

that vid was before i fitted a catback
this is a better vid and not on public roads so more time in VTEC

If they fit the EP2 you'd be mad to get anything else.

as said, they dont. it may be best to see if you can get a k&n open cone like the 57i or something similar as i dont think there is any specific induction kit that is the top dog for the EP2

you may be best looking at a universal fitment kit?

i will be honest though, it wont make much difference bar noise.

may as well go for something cheaper in that case

i wouldnt spend more than £150 in honesty.

edit*
looked into it a bit more, seems the AEM is the best one to go for, but its £250+ so I would consider the K&N - especially over the pipercross
