Best insurance companies for low mileage?

I've recently moved abroad but I left my civic in the UK. I am going to garage it soon but would prefer to drive it when I am back there. I'm only going to be back several times a year at most so I'd estimate my absolute max annual mileage to be around 3k miles. Are there any insurers that are great with low mileage policies? I went on the comparison websites and the best quote was £429 from AXA which is terrible for such low mileage in my opinion. If it's not viable then I'll have to just rent cars when I visit which seems silly considering I'd have my own car there.

Also the other part of this plan was to SORN it each time I'm out of the UK and only pay for a month when I'm back. Would I still be insured if I was to do this?

I am using classic line for both my M3 and Clio.

M3 - 22k value - 0NCB - 5000 miles per annum - track cover - european cover - all mods declared as track car - £500 full comp with £400 excess
Clio - 4k value - 0NCB - 5000 miles per annum - lowered - £260 full comp with £250 excess
SVR - 80k value - 8YRNCB - 10,000 miles per annum - modified - £1000 full comp with £500 excess (Admiral Platinum cover)

Try classic line, also try greenlight, sky insurance, adrian flux, a-plan, directline, admiral, hastings direct, liverpool victory and of course try a couple of comparison sites and the insurers it reports as cheapest, then go get a quote direct so you don't pay their middle man commission fee. ;)

It's only £429 and you are thinking of renting a car instead for 3000 miles which would be like 3 months worth of usage.

Just a guess but renting would cost you like £400 per week I imagine.

I just use a comparison site. My car with normal mileage was £900 a year. I dropped mileage from 10k to 2k and it dropped to £300 a year.

I'm guessing that you either have points, a claim or live in a high risk area, or are young with not much driving experience.
