Best intel I7 cpu

Which cpu would best suite my pc needs.
I just use my pc for gaming, so looking for a cpu to go with my rampage III & 5870cf

i7 920/930. The rest are pointess just higher clocked i7 920/930 except the 980x which has 6 cores but way over priced and will only gain you an extra 1-2 fps.

i7 980x is the best but even a 920 will be more than enough for gaming

What kinda speed differents will i see compared to the Q9650 that am using at the mo. its overclocked to 3.6.

Speed difference in game? Not an amazing amount.
Speed difference in just about everything else... Much faster

At the mo am using lian li 2100b. nam killer hows the corsair for a case. because am thinking of getting one

So would a I7 930 cope with the 5870cf. and would it cope with trifire if i ever went that way??

The 800D is an amazing case, I couldn't recommend it more!
A 920/930 would be well suited with 5870cf or even tri-fire

Am going to be cooling the cpu with a 360 on roof, but Whats it like for air cooling the 5870?

It should be fine, 5870s run fairly cool so you shouldn't really have a problem with that.

Looking at 930 Whats OEM/RETAIL? and would one of these be good for my pc to replace my 150 rapter x

oem is cheaper because it does not come with the cooler/manual and you wouldn't have a warranty with the manufacturer.

I would really go with the 920, its what 60£+ cheaper and there is no difference at 4ghz. And the SSD looks good.

LOL! its funny how vague these questions really are! I mean the term Best can be applied to anything. And so it seems that you are focussed into gaming and so as stated above the 920 would be more than sufficient for your needs.

Agree with other posters here - 920 if you can still get one will be more than enough for games, if not get the 930.

930 has a higher chance of not clocking well.
