We ordered a Washer/Dryer from B&q and they sent and installed just a washer then refused to sort it out for us! So now I'm looking for an integrated Washer/Dryer, preferably from Currys since they have half price install at the moment

I need general washing but good drying performance and timing for 5-6kg loads with the ability to dry jeans/denim. I've narrowed it down to the following but feel free to recommend something else. Thanks

AMICA AWDT814S Integrated 8 kg Washer Dryer Product code: 221987

BEKO Pro WDIX8543100 Integrated Washer Dryer - White Product code: 156941

BEKO WDIX7523000 Integrated 7 kg Washer Dryer Product code: 245541

CANDY CBWD 8514DC Integrated 8 kg Washer Dryer - White Product code: 230780

HOOVER HBWD 8514S-80 Integrated 8 kg Washer Dryer Product code: 245004

HOOVER HBWD 8514TAHC Integrated 8 kg Washer Dryer - White Product code: 198359

HOTPOINT Ultima BHWDD74UK Integrated Washer Dryer Product code: 101807

Almost always the dry capacity is lower, normally close to half, of the washing capacity.

I can't speak to for a those brands but my Bosch one was pretty solid.

You're no going to be able to put a full capacity wash on and leave that all in to dry also.

We've had a hot point Wd for almost 6 years and for most part we don't use the dryer function as it kept over heating. We have since ordered a Samsung WD to replace which should be here any day.

All of those washer dryers I think are from the same oem so will be very little between them.

I asked this recently, and you look about the same price range as me.
I think I've decided on the Beko wdix8. Currys is currently money off and further off with a voucher code from googling. Think it took it 420.
Hoover and candy are the same and I never learnt the minute detail differences of the different 8514 models, unless you are aware and care to educate me.

we had an AEG for nearly 6 years withn no issues only don't have it now because we left in in our old house when we sold.

Also, installing a washer is attaching a hose and plugging in, not worth paying for.

Suprised so many people use tumble dryers, i always found they make clothes smell funny with bed sheets being the worst.

They also never dry things properly and you have to hang everything to air afterwards anyway.

Never bought one myself, prefer to air dry.

I know drying capacity will always be lower than washing capacity; i just meant i want to have a machine that can effectively wash and then dry the same load i.e the 5-6kg drying capacity that i would want

This really worries me as its incredibly difficult to air dry items at all and i would have to air dry in my bedroom which i have heard is pretty unhealthy so i need a washer/dryer which has very good drying facilities... without the smell!

If you want to install it yourself there are two to four bolts at the back (depends on make) that must be removed failing to do this before use will break the drum

Is the "poor drying" and "smell" issues common for all washer/dryer or just combo ones or even just integrated ones; like would a non integrated washer dryer be much better at drying?

I would need the old unit removed and the new one installed for £45 so ill get a professional to do it

We use our washer/dryer as its hard to dry clothes in our apartment. Clothes come out smelling fine on our 6 year old Hotpoint, but if you over load it clothes will still come out damp. My wife always runs a full wash then dries it, doesnt matter how many times I tell her the drying capacity is roughly half.

My new Samsung is being delivered Monday by John Lewis they are disposing of the old and installing the new one for free.

I’ve never used one myself, however I know a good few people that have a washer/dryer combo and I’ve only heard negative things about the drying of things in them. The dryer is apparently basically useless, and they end up letting their clothes air dry. I’ve used a tumble dryer and they work great (as long as you keep the filter clean, which I’ve noticed a lot of people don’t even know about!!).

As I say, I don’t know from personal experience, but I’ve heard enough to not get one myself. I’m currently in the process of looking into moving my water tanks into the loft so I can install a washer and dryer stack in the cupboard instead.

Why not buy a dehumidifier with a drying clothes setting?
