Which website do you guys go to for the most fair and unbiased reviews for games. Looking for PS3 game review sites and know the usuals such as gamespot.com and metacritic.com but wanted to know if there are better ones to look at before deciding on a game.

Gametrailers to see it in action, Metacritic to make sure they haven't been slipped a few tenners to give it a good review and ZP for a bit of light entertainment.

who actually reads reviews nowadays to make their mind up if they are going to buy a game or not? i know i don't

usually i will know if a game is going to be worth buying a few months before it is released through all the press, podcasts being the best source.

Pre-release press is dangerous IMO, as it's all hype.

Sure you can get a feel for if it's going to be a good game, but I won't make a decision until I see a review of a release copy.

I've got to agree.

When I used to do compliance testing we'd see pre-release games months before they'd hit the shelves, and they'd often have entire sections missing, or large bits that would be taken out in the final release.

One example I notably remember was a mini-game in army of two you had to play when your team mate got shot badly. It consisted of pushing buttons to jam a tampon into your mates wound....

Wasn't really surprised when that never made it into the game. :p

ign and gametrailers both forgot to mention no dedicated servers for mw2 reviews so for that alone they are now worthless.

giant bomb are decent however I did disagree slightly about dragon age, i do like the game and all but it could have and should have been so much better.

Metacritic for overall score
Gametrailers for video footage and review
ZP when applicable to point out the bad points

I use Gamespot. I'm not really that fussed about bias as I usually base my decision to purchase on other factors (player reviews from here influence my decisions a lot), but I just enjoy watching and reading their reviews, so I do. :p

I also use Gametrailers occasionally as well.
