Best Internet server provider with fibre optic in greater manchester?

So I'll be living in a house with some friends at uni next year. And we need internets obviously... I want to get the best possible in almost every aspect (where possible if it sucks in one place who cares!) My friend wants to get a Sky package for TV + broadband but if skys broadband sucks Ill have to talk him out of it or something. Any suggestions please! This is a pretty grey area in my knowledge btw

Regarding convincing your mate away from Sky ... wouldn't a Sky TV package require the fitting of a mini-dish on the side of the house? Hence that'd be a no no on a privately rented student property (which I assume it is).

it's this one. http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/LCBOL we are apparently getting a virgin media up to 60meg speed. If you could tell me the possibility of getting over at least 10meg and how decent etc it would be that would be great. If I need to give more info let me know and I'll fish a little more.

You will almost certainly get 60meg on Virgin, might be worth getting their 9-month student package with the TV included.

Otherwise, your exchange is pretty heavily upgraded so you can pretty much take your pick with regards to FTTC - BT & Sky probably being the best options for students.

Ok cool cheers. My mate was looking at an all inclusive package of 44 quid. But not sure if its a student one or not.
