Hi all,

Not sure if to post here or in Motors but as much as I used to love Waze, I find it is awful at finding addresses I am looking for. It also seems to be useless at rerouting for traffic. I spent an hour both coming and going home from the North West this weekend because of the M6 even though Waze knew there was loads of traffic.

How is Copilot and the rest? I don't mind paying (max £40) but it really would need to be worth it. Note: I will also be using it for navigation as a volunteer first responder for the Ambulance service so accuracy and speed is key.

Thanks

I was going to recommend Waze as I had a slightly different experience, where I was approaching very slow moving traffic and it re-routed me and saved ~10mins off the journey. Maybe there were no alternative routes available which it considered viable to save time?

I was going to recommend Waze too, it has been useful in rerouting during severe traffic and accidents etc. Google maps tends to deal with traffic pretty well (it even uses information from Waze), but I've had issues with the odd address being wrong (something across the whole spectrum of iOS sat navs actually). Google maps has tended to be the one with the least amount of incorrect addresses for me. Haven't used copilot for years so couldn't give you an up to date review.

Looks like I found the answer to my Waze query:

Long Distances:
0-15 km - All road types are allows for routing.
15-20 km - All road types except Streets.
20-30 km - All road types except Streets and Primary streets.
30-200 km - Only Minor, Major, and Freeways.
more than 200 km - only Freeways.
My journey was around 150 miles so it completely wrote off the A roads. Very annoying considering M6 standstill traffic was seen way in advance. I trusted it but might use Copilot for long drives such as that in future.

Edit: seems the above isn't strictly true but they do prefer motorways further on in the route. Lots of people have had similar issues with the M6.
