Best ISP for gaming?

Hi guys

What's the best ISP for gaming at the moment?

I am with Pipex on their 8MB service at the moment, but am getting nowhere near that, and the upload rate is poor too.

I am after an ISP that offers an 8MB 20:1 contention With 800kbps. Price really should be under 40 pounds a month.

I am getting ping of around 35 in FPS Gaming Servers, whereas the guy nextdoor gets around 10 with his Opal Internet business 8MB service.

Above 8MB ADSL1 is not available in my area.

Well I can get around 3.5 actual speed, but it's varies too much.

Which is why I wanted one with a lower contention rate and faster upload as that also helps with the lag.
