thanks a lot for your advise. The H5 does look interesting but it might block my Gskill TridentZ. I am not sure will study it more.http://www.corsair.com/en-us/hydro-series-h5-sf-low-profile-liquid-cpu-cooler

Says the total cooler height is 84mm... if that's accurate does the rest of it look like it will fit in your case?
Or something like:

With the fan mounted under the heatsink, height is 82mm.

thanks for your input. I am planing to make an ITX case actually, 9cm is not the final number yet, can stress out 1-2 cm but I really prefer to make it as compact as possible. What case will it be going in? Will you be using a discrete GPU or is it OK if a cooler blocks the PCIe slot?
Hi guys,
I am looking for an ITX which is no higher than 9cm (fan included). Not sure which one would be the best performance out there. Thanks a lot for your advise.

Sorry, to me using a AIO (really a CLC) is not 'worth' spending money on. And to do it properly requires at least a few hundred quid for full surface waterblock, pump, radiator, fans, hoses, fittings etc.If your building your own case it's worth going for an AIO cooler (or even full loop with GPU) as you could be somewhat flexible in placing the radiator. If your looking for a thin system you could place the radiator parallel to the motherboard.
