Best Lan game

I'm trying to find the best game to play on a LAN at work on fairly old computers.

So far I've tried:

AvP - Game is old and flawed
AvP 2 - (cannot play due to issue with routers)
Red Alert 2 - Slows to a crawl after 15 minutes
UT2003 - Bored of this now
CS, Quake, ET, TFC - No, played them toooo much

Other options are:
BF1942 - not enough people to justify playing
Serious Sam
Tribes (2)
Operation Flashpoint.

Can anyone else think of fun old school games for 4+ peeps, that can run on machines with integrated graphics?
 
UT 2004 mods:

Killing Floor
Alien Swarm

Both co-op and damn fun.

Soldat

Free 2d shooter

Urban Terror

Free CS-like mod for Quake3 (don't need quake 3 to play as is standalone these days)


Can't think of more off-hand but I'm sure I will... :)
 
Personally I'd rethink BF1942 - get the difficulty settings just right and have co-op against bots and its one of the best LAN games I've ever played!!!

Q2 ctf best for me (we split the lan between red and blue)
Q1,doom1/2,3,TA,RA,motorhead,kingpin not in any order after q2
not been to a lan in a few years
 
Age of Empires 2 was great over a LAN, If you added any AI players they had a bad habbit of picking one player and raping them to death though. Playing in fortress mode helped though.
