Hi, i'm about out of touch with my computer knowledge these days. All i'm looking for is the best laptop to buy for approx £400.

Requirements. 15" ish screen, not one of those tiny laptops. All it will be used for is music, internet, word and champ manager.

The quieter the better aswell. I was thinking you can't really go wrong with dell's and was looking at the Inspiron 15 for £399.

main spec.

Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Processor T4200 (2.0GHz, 800MHz, 1MB cache)
15.6" Widescreen WXGA WLED (1366 x 768) TFT Display with TrueLife™
Intel Integrated GMA 4500MHD
3072MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [1x2048 + 1x1024]
250GB (5,400rpm) Serial ATA Hard Drive

Does anyone have any recommendations or thoughts?

thanks in advance! :)

I bought the same model all be it with 2gig of ram for £350, it was my sons birthday present. Got it from the big supermarket.

Must admit once I uninstalled pretty much everything it's quite a nice little machine. The only poor thing with the one I got is vista basic. But it's fine for him.

I did look at lots of other new laptops for around the £400 mark and nothing looked as nice or had a good a spec.

Asus X59GL-AP007C Laptop, Core 2 Duo T5800 2GHz 3GB RAM 250GB HDD, 15.4" TFT, DVD SM DL, 6 Cell Batt, nVIDIA GeForce 8200 Vista Home Premium

thats £400 its an Asus and has some cracking reviews
