I know the 140mm Thermalright TY-140 are great performing fans, problem is currently I'm thinking of upgrading my system and grabbing some of these Crucial CL8 DDR3 LED rams http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-144-CR
Might need the extra 10mm from going 140mm to 120mm in order to sit the fan over the headspread
I know going to a 120mm fan would most likely be loudly and slightly worse on cooling performance, but since I am not planning on overclocking like crazy (haven't decided on going for i3 2120 or i5 2500K overclocking to no higher than 4.5GHz yet), so I think would got for some LED instead since my 690II Advanced has Windowed panel
Yea sorry forgot to mention, the fan mount is indeed for 120mm, so I'm looking at 120mm LED fans...and as I said above...might need the extra 10mm space for the heatspread on the ram lol
However, the ugliest fans are the best performers lol.
I just switched to WC from using a Silver Arrow Heatsink with TY-140's and they're awesome, very silent, great airflow and static pressure, I have 4 of them still and they are one of the best performers IMO.
haha yea....can't fault the TY-140 at all on performance and quietness...but the look is butt ugly. I can't understand why they would use plastic like that!
