Yeah as much as I hate him, I'd have him in there too.

Think its hard to argue that Chelsea's defence is better than Man U's, this season.

Man U conceeded - 11
Chelsea conceeded - 16
Liverpool conceeded - 14

I know that goals conceeded isn't the only indicator for how good a defence is, but when you consider that Chelsea have Cech in goals (who is arguably the best goalkeeper in the Premiership by some way). Then you'd have to suspect that he's helping the back 4 out more so than any of the other keepers are, and so its yet another thing that, imo, goes against an argument for Chelsea having the best defence (back 4).

However, if you include the keeper in the debate for who has the best defence (back 4 + keeper). Then Cech is certainly good enough to start pulling Chelsea towards that No1 spot imo.

Also don't forget that the best centreback in the Prem has been injured for a lot of this season.

It's even more surprising how many goals Chelsea have conceded when you consider the awful defensive football they play.

Do you mean they are awful in defence or are playing defensive football as neither are correct by the way.

Considering how many long term injuries they've had to 1st choice defenders (and Cech) so far this season, only conceding 16 in the league is no mean feat:)
 
Chelsea have by far the better GK and play with around 7 defensive midfielders playing in front of their back four in a very defensive style.
there is no doubt man utd have the best defense, individually, as a unit and also in terms of going forward and being comfortable on the ball.
The league and the stats do not lie.

As for Evra, he is very good. It is possible.
I would be interested in knowing how many of those saying Lahm actually follow the Bundesliga weekly

What's more amazing about that is that we played some great football that season too when Duff and Robben were on fire, it was only 05/06 when it started getting a bit dour:)
