Best Linux Distro for HTPC ?

Hi all, as title really...

Im currently using Vista Ultimate on my Media Center, but fancy trying out a linux equlivant... Whats involved and what do i need ?

I cant say its anygood as I havent had a chance to test out any form of linux based HTPC editions.

Im just throwing it into the ring as another contender.

I would try linux on my HTPC if linux could play HD-DVD's easily.

Is someone knows how to play back without having to rip the disk please let me know
