FoxConn NF4K8MA-KS nForce4 Micro ATX (Socket 939) Motherboard (MB-000-FC)
OR
Asus A8N-VM CSM Micro ATX (Socket 939) PCI Express Motherboard (MB-119-AS)
its basically for a barebones system, wont be overclocked, but i need it to be stable yet hopefully have the best perfomance. if there's any others you'd recommend do tell ;)

Well I've got a Biostar TForce 939, but it's main strength lies in it's superb overclocking ability. I'd go for the Asus, purely because of their excellent track record.

Try the FoxConn 6150K8MA-8EKRS. It's not available on OcUK, but it's certainly an equal to the BioStar TForce that p4radox has. Maybe not as user friendly for overclocking, but it's certainly got all the same options.

Main differences are NForce 430, 3 x PCI (instead of 2 and 1 PCI-E x1), Firewire and the 6150 GPU.

that doesnt sound too bad actually and from looking at the pic it has a decent layout. overclocking features arent a big problem, been there done that IF i get the chance or im bored in the future i'll clock the socks off it ;)

I'd have gone for the BioStar myself but I wanted Firewire and didn't want a PCI-E x1 slot. I've managed to get myself a Opty 146 to pair up with it, now all I need to do is decide on the memory!

There's a decent review of the Foxconn here.
