Hello all,

bear with me as I’m a bit out of the loop with PC builds.

I’m looking at the NZXT H1 case for a mini ITX build but I need TB3 connectivity for some audio hardware I have.

I always used to use ASUS motherboards but on early searching I haven’t found many motherboards that are mini ITX and also have TB3.

I’m currently open between intel and AMD but for productivity I’m probably leaning AMD.

does anybody have any suggestions please?

there’s an ASRock mobo which ticks the boxes I think but I’ve never used this brand before.

many thanks in advance!

I received an NZXT H1 from OCUK last week. Bought an MSI Z490I Unify to go with it, which includes Thunderbolt 3. It's a gaming PC / hackintosh build, so Intel was my only option really. Note that the ASRock Z490 and MSI z490i mini-ITX board use different thunderbolt controllers (JHL7540 vs JHL7340). This might be the same for AMD variants, although I'm not sure on the differences between the controllers.

This is a good video describing the Intel options: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmgR9qNGKlk&t=16s. The tl;dr is that the MSI or Gigabyte boards are the best, but the differences are minimal for most people.
