im off to uni soon and it is not practical lugging my tower their and back all the time (cm 690) I have sold my case and mb to my cousin and am going to buy a new matx mb and case but im really not sure on the case it needs to house both my gpus so an itx is out of the question. i have an xfx 750w non modular psu too so i am worried the cabling may be an issue my cousin said he may buy this off me for £60 sounded like a fairly good deal so might do that and buy a fully modular one i will most likely have to buy a new cooler too as my a50 may be to big.

my budget is about £80 (may stretch a bit more if i see one i really like)

thanks for the help

Silverstone TJ08
Silverstone PS07

And people will no doubt mention the Fractal Design Arc Mini, but the Silverstone ones are better :p

They're pretty much the same case, except PS07 has 2x120 in the front, rather than a 180...

TJ08 looks nicer....

the tj08 looks awesome ticks all the boxes. just watched the video that TTL did of it and it looks sweet plus its on offer :D now to pick a mb ;)

If you can wait a few weeks the silverstone SG09 should be coming out, which looks to be the perfect portable matx case.

TJ08, fractal arc/define mini, lian li v354 and other stuff are all good, but not really what I'd call portable. Definitely avoid the FT03 if you want to be carrying it back and forth to uni on a regular basis.

Edit, actually the fractal core 1000 would be my choice for dirt cheap amazingly portable matx case

I have a Silverstone FT03 which is pretty snazzy. 2 gpus will make things quite hot in there though.

found out i got the grades i needed for uni today woop woop :D still cant quite decide between the Silverstone or FD hmmmm

Congrats on the grads

Both have good cooling, but the TJ08 is a better quality.... Fractal's had some QC issues in the past, where as Silverstone's quality is top notch...

Neither are a bad choice though, the Fractal was on my shortlist when I was picking a case, but ultimately it didn't make it...

Since you are moving to Micro-ATX platform as a way to downsize from your previous build. You should probably look more closely at the cases sizes and see how much smaller you can go or need. So I think it's a good idea to compare your previous case with the ones you are considering now:

53.9 litres - Cooler Master CM 690

41.2 litres - Fractal Design Arc Mini (24% smaller than CM 690)

32.4 litres - SilverStone PS07 (40% smaller than CM 690)

30.2 litres - SilverStone TJ08-E (44% smaller than CM 690)

Sorry if this just made your choice more difficult! :D

Good choice, TJ08-E is one of the best performance/volume you can get at the moment. :)

It's a little big for my tastes - carrying a SG03 back and forth every term was tough enough for me. But you'll certainly be able to build a great system in there.
