Looking to buy a mechanical keyboard this week but a bit unsure of which to go for. Not looking to spend more than £80.

What do you guys recommend?

I have the Quickfire Rapid and I love it, first mechanical keyboard I've had so can't compare to others but yeah I can't recommend it enough. I did want the MX Red version but I would have had to get it imported from Taiwan I think

That isn't mechanical, Cagerty.

If you play a lot of FPS, the black switch (on both the CM and TT) is ideal. I would opt for the CM, but apart from appearance, there's not going to be a lot of difference. Comes down to personal preference...

Yeah, red and black are generally thought of as better for FPS, due to the linear action of the keystroke.

Having said that, my keyboard has brown switches and it feels fine during CS:S and the like.

Nonsense, it looks slick :]

There's actually a huge thread about mechanical keyboards in the PC Games sub-forum with a lot of information that you might want to read through.

Also, if you're really uncertain about which switch is for you, you could find a shop that stocks mechs and try before you buy.

Stay away from the Meka g unit

I have one and far from happy with it basically what is happening sometimes i press a key and will type the same letter about 10 times e.g ttttttttttt the 2nd I press another key it stops. It happens randomly no set key causing it. The key itself is not becoming stuck it just seems to continue the signal (Also a known issue). Its only 1 and half months old and sat on a on a shelf now. The reason I have not rma the board is the fault is so random if I send it back would cost £20 and they not guaranteed to see the fault (how would they test some1 sit pressing random keys all day?) and end up sending it back to me costing even more money. Thing cost £100 and now worthless to me.
