best memory configuration for X79

Hi All,

need help in getting memory for x79 board below?

Asus Rampage IV Extreme/BF3 Intel X79 ,

Do I get 2x 4gb or 6x 2gb not sure whats best

It's quad channel so for the best performance you need to install 4 or 8 sticks of RAM.

How much do you want to spend?

I really have no idea if faster RAM makes any difference with Sandy Bridge-E.
