Best method for writing to NTFS

Hi all,

The biggest and probably only drawback I find with OSX Is writing to NTFS. For years I've used NTFS-3G teamed up with FUSE and whilst it works, the write speed is not the quickest. I'm currently writing a 14GB file to a USB pen drive and it's been going for 15mins so far

So, I want to know what the fastest method of writing to NTFS is, or what the best solution is

What do you guys use?

Mavericks and higher do have native support for NTFS on a per volume basis by editing /etc/fstab, see here:

I haven't tried this so I can't speak as to its speed, but might be worth a go

Ah...

I could just update my Macbook to Mavericks in that case
