Best method to switch bt and a BeThere isp to virgin?

I have no idea about how long i have with BT but i have been with them for years im not sure if the contract is now rollover per month or per 12 months still. My broadband is 30 day i think contract now i have been with them awhile.

If say i wanted to switch to virgin now what is the best way to go about it. Without waiting months and lets say get it done by early December?

I wouldn't mind keeping my phone number if i can move it across that would be great also i hope virgin has a free answering machine kinda service i.e 1571 and the last call service 1471 which i hope is free also.

If it's virgin cable you can have both services running at the same time so just get a date from Virgin as to when you'd be up an running and have BT to cease the line sometime after that. The same thing for your broadband.

If it's Virgin ADSL then don't.
