Hey guys,

I am looking for a micro ATX case that is rugged, light, easy to carry, fit a noctua nh-d14 and perhaps have sli support and a window.

I have been looking at the silverstone tj08-e, corsair 350D and the fractal design midi r3.

Thanks.

The TJ08-E sounds like your best current option.. I have it with a D14 in. :)

Compare time:

TJ08-E

  • Smallest mATX case (that can take a big CPU cooler and long GPU's)
  • Light (i can carry it up and down stairs with ease)
  • Fits the D14
  • No Window
  • Limited HDD Space with D14

350D

  • Has Window
  • Will take long GPU's
  • Room for many HDD's
  • Watercooling potentail
  • May not fit a D14 (160mm clearaence, cooler is 159mm)
  • Nearly as big as some Full ATX cases

My advice: Im waiting for the Prodigy M. :)

I looked at the TJ08-E and heard reviews of the paintwork to easily be scratched and the front fan to be very noisy. However it cools really well I can put my SSD onto a velcro mount and my HDD in the bottom slot I think. They are both really light as well.

Apparently the prodigy M is the same dimensions as the original which would be a problem with me as when I originally had a prodigy my GPU wouldn't fit has the cooler was touching the side panel.

Another thing about these two cases is that they don't have any cable management (which is why they don't have windows I guess). This added lots of heat to my build which I noticed was taken off when I got my stryker. Plus with no cable management I found it a challenge not to get wires caught in a fan or trying to get clearance between my optical drive and heatsink.

Well my TJ08-E is still in perfect conidition and im the 4th owner. :) Aslong as you dont drag your knuckles over it you'll be fine.. :)

You can mount you SSD on the bottom and a 3.5" HHD in the 5.25 (with an adapter) if you want the space, thats what i do.

Have you took a look at the new prodigy M? the layout is completely different, its inverted Matx, like the TJ08-E so you won't have that problem.

The tJ08-E has lot of cable managment, my rig looks nice and tidy. :)
