I currently get mobile broadband access via a Three USB dongle. I have recently purchased a WiFi only iPad and sharing out the connection from whichever machine the dongle is plugged in to is getting a little tiresome.

What would be recommended by way of a MiFi device? Three do their own, which is £85 to buy outright. It seems a little steep to me, but searching around, unlocked devices don't really seem much cheaper.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I had the original white model and got a free upgrade last year to the E585

Both worked great but the 585 hass the better info display

Great signal and connectivity on both, i use it at work where i got very poor O2 signal, these gave me a 3meg connection on 3,

2 mates have one too all like it, one jammy bugger has 5 gig for £7.50 pm

Contract is probably the way to go here

My problem is I'm half way through a 2 year contract already, so my only real option is to just buy the device PAYG.

Sounds good though.

Well, unfortunately the in-store price works out at £84.99, however because I was an existing customer I was given a £10 discount so only paid £74.99. Does come with a 3GB PAYG SIM though, which is the unfortunate bit as I didn't need it but the device has to be sold with one.

EDIT - And the device is working brilliantly too :).

Do you mean how long will the device last on a charge, or how long can you use it for on the price plan?

If the first, I've no idea, but it charges over USB so it could in theory stay on forever.

For the second, the amount of use you get is done on data limits rather than amount of time connected.
