I have one of these but it doesn't fit my S23U even though it's the largest size:

It's also broken once so I had to put bolts through it to repair. The ball joint is all plastic so will break again given time.

Anyone know of an alternative which is actually made from metal and won't break?

Also with the ability to mount it on squarish frames and not just round ones?

Thanks

You can get bike bags that mount on the top tube next to the stem, some of which have a clear pocket on the top for a mobile phone.
Might actually be better than any mounts and I'd imagine roughly the same price if you just get a cheap one from amazon or wherever.

Was just thinking about this yesterday. On the bike, getting repeatedly called and unable to answer. Phone sealed in a plastic bag and then in a pocket of my jacket.

Was thinking about strapping it to my arm like runners do; hadn't even considered attaching it to the bike.

How much are those bags... around £10?

I did do my own research because no replies to this thread for a while and found Quad Lock, Peak Design, Mous and SP Connect mounts.

Debating which ones to go for... they are expensive but look clean.

Downside to Quad Lock besides the price is tight phone cases hard to get off.

Wondering if I need a vibration mount as well with them as to not damage the OIS of the camera.

The copy versions on eBay are made of plastic so don't trust those.

That bag is currently £14.99 on Amazon.

With quad lock the vibration damper is primarily for motorbikes to cancel out high frequency vibrations from the engine. Don’t think it’s needed for bikes but it does fit on the out front mount pro if you want to use one. https://support.quadlockcase.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002024795-Vibration-Dampener-FAQ

I bought some adhesive sticky garmin mounts and I used that. Although I now have a Garmin Edge so don’t use it.

Benefit being I could use a spare phone case and just switch over. I have a waterproof one for paddle boarding which was an ideal candidate. Never had a point the sticky failed and lost the phone.

Used to have a top tube bag as above but it ended up scratching the frame when dirt and mud got stuck.

Ended up with a 'holder' and case from ultimateaddons. The phone case is great, waterproof, protective and easy to unclip and take photos in the case.

Available in different sizes from Amazon.

Will check out ultimateaddons.

So far research has said:

Mous - No pancho so need screen protector
Quadlock - Ugliest case
Peak Design - Nicest case and mount but messes up S pen functionality
