need a few recommendations for this case as i bought it a few days ago from here ( first part of build )

to be many used as media centre .. with some light gaming ( old et ) tribal wars .. no real advanced games except the odd play of half-life 2 .

using a dell 2408 .. but will mostly used for hd/blu ray playback ( once i get aroudn to it )

hdmi is i would say is a must, unless someone can give a good reason for mobo not to have one

any help would be great

Well it would depend on your budget, but sometthing like this

Asus P5Q-EM Intel G45 Micro-ATX (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £106.94 (£92.99)
Sub Total : £222.98
Shipping cost assumes delivery to UK Mainland with:
DHL @ Home Next Day (Delivered Mon-Fri)
(This can be changed during checkout) Shipping : £7.99

If you need cheaper you could drop the CPU down as far as an E5200 if you wanted, though obviously you are losing performance in doing so

what about :-

Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H AMD 780G Micro-ATX (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

£73.59 inc VAT

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000 3.10GHz (Socket AM2) - Retail

£68.99 inc VAT

is that any good as an amd alternative ? plus a lot cheaper :)

isn't the e5200 a good overclocker ? sure ive read that .. how much of a performance hit really would there be ?

Yes it is a good clocker and you can clock it back up, however I assume this is a HTPC and they dont handle too much OC'ing very well as they have poor cooling

hmm good point .. wont be much room for the air to move about ... i take it i'll be stuck with the stock cooler for the cpu, as no room for anything else ?

probably better if i went higher spec as it should last me longer ... on 2nd look the original mobo looks the business ... how good is the onboard graphics ?
