Unless you're buying very good RAM, I'd go for a board other than the DS3, one which allows you to run the CPU and RAM at different bus speeds. As to which one, I'm not qualified to say, as I bought a DS3 before I knew too much about it
Intel's BadAXE V2 is great too, it clocks very well, and is as stable as they come. Only downside is its not such a 'friendly' interface in the OC part of the bios.
Aye its the same board, just different caps, i bought the S3 instead, seems pointless getting the DS, everyone seems to overlook the S3 though for some reason.
The only reason people say get ds3 is because they have one
and need to big up their own hardware
the ds3 is at it's absolute limit clocking a duo to 3.6 ghz
so gets very hot i'm in the market too
and everyone tells me ds3 but i fear that "was" the board to get last year.
Or am i seeing loads of them on fleabay for no reason?
If anyone says ds3 ask them if they have fans on the north and south bridge at 3.6ghz
I'm keeping an eye on how this abit fatal1ty 650i board turns out.
Even so i bet it runs the north and south bridge red hot if overclocking.
I'm waiting for one that isn't at it's limits clocking a 6300 to 3.5-3.6ghz
and does'nt require bunging in 80 mm fans for the bridges.
