I'm going to be upgrading my Intel E2220 and it seems that the best processor within my budget is the AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-244-AM&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=1328)
I can't afford to upgrade my entire computer, though, so I aim to still use my DDR2 RAM.
I've been looking at the Gigabyte MA770-UD3 (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-180-GI)
Will this be the best motherboard for under £80 that I can get that will work with this processor? Also is anyone aware which revision of the motherboard OcUK have in stock?

Thanks

I agree with Ast3r.
It's a nice board and well worth the money. The only neg is the gigabyte trademark rainbow colour scheme on the board.
Oh and the board is slightly narrower than a standard atx board

You could get this for 9 pounds more.Has better cooling which will help when overclocking that 955(it will be a shame not to) and its also more future proof since it gas 2xPCI-E slots. It also has DDR2 1333+ so basically you'll get DDR3 speeds on it using DDR2.

I`ve got me one of those MB`s, it is solid.

Currently I`ve got my 5000+ X2 (Brisbane) to 3315Mhz @1.4v. OCZ Platinum DDR2 400Mhz @ 473Mhz. Very stable.

I`d say it`s probably the best MB I`ve owned (previously had ABIT and ASUS boards). The onboard SATA controller doesn`t support TRIM properly for my Intel SSD, but apart from that I`m happy with it.

i use a gig 770 ud3 i've had it since last year, pretty stable does the job.
And the nb is stable at 2.6 ghz
athlon x4 620 at 3.60ghz (1.34v load, 1.17v c1e cool quiet)
Motherboard temps never go over 35, cpu temps on standard cooling = 30 idle 55 load
Ram Geil ddr2 800 at (923 mhz) (2.1v)
Been running this since last aug i think never any problems.

I agree the 790x is a slightly better board for almost the same money (8+2 phase etc).
either boards will do the job though.
