Hey, what's the best motherboard I can get for around £150? I'm looking to overclock the i7 to around 4.0Ghz and crossfire two 5870s.

Thanks

Edit* I was thinking of the ASUS p6t but I'm not sure.

I'd recommend the P6TD Deluxe, though the UD5 is also a very common choice. It depends on your personal preference really.

I was in the same boat as you few weeks back with similar budget. Had been looking at the more budget end of x58 boards and these were the options:

1) Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R

2) Asus P6T SE

3) Foxconn Bloodrage GTI X58 motherboard
(think OCUK have stopped it now) (£139.99)

In the end went for the foxconn bloodrage gti board. Although i've only got a single GTX260 I'll be getting another one later for SLI and the asus and gigabyte board have their pci x16 slots very close together with many people reporting quite high temps and poor air flow for cooling.

I'm very glad I got the board I did. Working first time, eveything ran smoothly. The only is there are only 3 memory slots on it so max of 6GB at present with 3x 2GB sticks...but lets be honest how much more do you really need.

I think for this kind of budget your definately looking at the lower end of boards but I really think the foxconn pushes way above its weight.

Overclocked mine to 3.6GHz all at stock volts.
