Best modern RPG?

Just googed Mass Effect and I can pick it up for £8.88, have now ordered it as sounds like a bargain. Also saw Mass Effect 2 is due ot Jan 2010... I guess a few people here will be excited about that.

I think fallout 3 is pretty good and worth playing, it's a great game with quite a lot of content to explore.

Mass Effect is deffo worth playing, you will be amazedby almost everything in the game, story is top quality too.

There are no mods for the game, apart from a few that change the facial textures of the turain guy.

Tweakguides has a good guide on how to make it perform really well.

Soon as the release date is confirmed, i'm booking time off work. Also when you complete the game, keep your save files, as you can use that character for mass effect 2.

Mass Effect, Fallout 3 and The Witcher.
All awsome, but ME is by far the best of the bunch I think, cant wait for ME2

Just finished my Vanguard run on Insanity :eek:

That's disappointing. The best thing about my favourite RPG (Oblivion) was the massive choice of mods. Not sure how long I'll be playing Mass Effect for but still, £8.88 is a bargain even if I only get a month out of it...

well from 8am to 12am, it took me around 3-5 days to complete the game and side missions.

If you steam roll the main story its quite short, maybe a day at a push.

lol - not done that for years - in fact it was for Morrowind...

That is short compared to Fallout 3, Oblivion & Morrowind. I guess Bethesda's the place to go for longevity...

True it is a short game, but the enjoyment you get out of it is well worth it. Its like an interactive movie!

You could steam your way though fallout 3 in the same amount of time tbh if you knew exacaly where to go.

for the whole game and side missions? That's a feat and a half! Don't recon I could do it, but then maybe I get distracted too much - I can't resist checking out all those ruined towns and villages. It's also another good reason for choosing a game with a strong modding community behind it...

I'm still playing Freelancer! I think it's a superb game and there's a very active mod community so you should try that as well.

Recently I've enjoyed Mass Effect and Dead Space - both of which are superb.

You'll have some 16-18 year old kid, very feminine features, weird hair and massive sword, he'll have to fight some evil cooperation with the usual menu driven attack system, there will be chocobo's, a gem system. There will also be 2 female characters wanting to hump the main guy, one is a chav and the other is a princess like.

That above sums up every FF ever created.

We'd to hold off our nuclear holocaust until Radaway had been invented, though. Come on, scientists, I want my post-apocalyptic escapism! I bet mole-rat meat's actually quite nice...
