Best modular PSU

Anyone care to suggest a very good modular PSU. I have 2 Hiper's, but I'm after something really special for a new mATX rig I'm building. I would prefer at least 1 120mm fan, possibly backed up with an 80mm?

Quiet is not a priority - quality of current/voltage supply is everything.
 
How deep is the case? Some MATX cases will have problems with PSU being extremly close to the optical drive, I have a Seasonic S12 (fixed) with a Silverstone TJ08, mate same PSU Q-Pack and only 1" between PSU and optical drive with both cases (to fit/remove DVD drive power molex means sliding drive out) You'll probably want a MATX case 16 or 17" deep to fit a modular PSU/cables without cables being at a extreme angle.

Don't need a 620W for a HTPC and most likely not 500W either- 400W should be suitable. Biggest problem is depth as small cases aren' exactly roomy. You might get away with a Liberty with the drive against the PSU, as long as one row of power cables is used below the drive, ie perhaps the connectors furthest side of the PSU are unusable. You'll need to fit a Liberty and test beforehand.
 
im going to suggest giving OCZ modstreams a look, got one recently, thouroughly impressed and satisfied, £58 for 520 Watt, very quiet, running two 7600GTs no problem, plus the cables supplied are good, bit rigid so they tend to be a bit hard to get out of the way sometimes, especially the thick 24-pin cable, but good, the modular system is very good and the build quality is simply fantastic, has 120mm fan which is more than upto the job, plus its very stable power, well within +/-5%

Edit: you get 3 year warranty from OCZ and the ratings are (according to the book provided) since due to your question its something you want in your PSU:

+3.3V - 28A
+5V - 52A
+12 - 28A

not sure if thats particularly good, but as i said two 7600GTs running no problem, another plus is UV reactive cables

Sorry to be out of the thread so long - it is going in a Silverstone TJ-08. The OCZ looks good, and the Seasonics are only available fixed-cabled unfortunately. I think the Silverstone Strider looks like what I'm after.

If you work out the placement of the Enermax Liberty connectors will be on the bottom 5.25", the ones in parrarel to the optical drive will be useless. Unless you get a short optical drive. Do you need a SLI compatible PSU though for a MATX setup?)

I'm going to use a modified Abit LG-81 board that has a requirement for particularly stable voltages to work properly. The requirement for modular is more for tidiness, although you have done a really nice job with yours. Also - for the future - the case and board may go, but I'm hoping the PSU should be good for at least 1 upgrade.

Optical drives shouldn't be an issue as I use laptop drives for space efficiency and they are at least 2" shorter than a normal optical drive.

Thanks for the photo though - it definitely looks tighter than I had imagined!
 
TJ08 is actually pretty roomy compared to other MATX cases, I can access any part of the motherboard easily. Mates Qpack types have optical drive and PSU above the motherboard, so pretty obstructed, also need to spend more time on cable managment with the Q-pack (cables directly above videocard/southbridge, and to add/remove cards need to pull aside PSU.

TJ08 case is good, with decent amount of cooling. Couple of minor quibbles if you're a contant chance/replace knock couple of points off. Small removeable mobo tray instead of entire mobo+PCI card removeable tray. To fit HD's need to remove HD cage, one screw is on the other side and that requries you to remove mobo tray for you to get a screwdriver to it (I guess good idea to use thumbscrews here as that will fix the problem) Bit of a squeeze between PSU and optical drive. But Qpack and Sugo have the same problem. I would buy this case again, unless I could've used another case (but probably have faults as weel!) recommend this case still though.
 
Had Tagan easycon, quite a deep psu with a small s lanboy. No way could fit optical drive in top 2 bays and only just managed to cram it in the third bay. Otherwise happy with the case. I'm thinking a bigger one would have been better, but it's done now. No problems with the Tagan easycon very happy.

Ive njust managed to squeeze a short plextor drive in the 2nd bay, as you say the top bay is a total no no
