best monitor calibration device?

heard tell of things like a "pantone huey" and a "colour munki" - are these the top dogs, are there any better alternatives?

would just like my monitors to both be as good as they can be :) any advice on this front would be great :)

EDIT: or are they maybe some decent software solutions?

The hardware option I believe is the best as it takes into account your exact surroundings. However, the good ones seem damn expensive, almost as much as a descent monitor in some cases. I needed to calibrate my monitor recently as I was getting prints from photos that looked good on screen but were wildly different on print. I eventually downloaded a pre calibrated profile from some website (sorry, can't remember which one now!) for my exact monitor and that has helped a great deal and was free.
 
I've calibrated our new NEC 20WGX2 Pro using a Colorvision Spyder 2 device and I have to say it's brilliant. Cost about £80 but I can't say where from.

Colours look absolutely spot on and since we use this machine with a large A2 colour photo printer we have very high standards for the screen/calibration to live up to.

Pictures don't do this justice by any means, but here you go anyway :p
