Best Monitor For A 6800XT?

When I first ordered my PC back in November 2020 (A 5900X with 6800XT) which I then received in February 2021. I ordered around the same time the LG27GL850 1440p 144hz monitor as I was mainly playing single player games like Assassin’s Creed : Valhalla, Jedi Fallen Order and RDR2. Since then I went back to playing Apex Legends more. So while it is my primary game I still do play the odd single player game and intend to play Spider-Man, Starfield and MW2 (2022) on launch.

My question is should I go for a newer 240hz 1440p or the new Alienware 34” QD monitor? As I feel like it is kind of pointless to be capping out a 6800XT at 144 fps (actual cap is 141). It just feels like I am wasting power/ fps.

Any advice would be great.

Do you want faster pixels or better looking ones?

I have a 6800 and the Alienware monitor - they work nicely together, and while the Alienware is only 175hz, due to the instant nature of OLED it feels quicker than a normal LCD monitor, plus it's ~33% more pixels than a 16:9 1440p display so it will be more demanding anyway - I doubt you will be able to maintain 175FPS in more demanding titles with everything maxed

A good question. Probably something that looks good with a good response time. As I do dip into BR games. Have kind of played through all the single player stuff I have so just waiting for more. I just a pity that there is not any 27” 1440p QD / OLED monitors out.
