Best monitor for photography ?

the answer? to the best monitor?

an IPS panel running a resolution of 1440

but your post will probablly get deleted if you dont remove the links advertising yourself ( i might be wrong)

yes, and IPS panel will give the best colour reporduction

a resolution of 1440 (depending on what size screen you go for and your budget) or higher 4k

personally the sweet spot is a 27" / 1440 / IPS

The 'BEST' is what you asked for and you didn't specify a price!

The 'BEST' is an EIZO from the 'colour edge' range, the only issue being the cost of nearly £4K for the 31 inch one. The big difference between ordinary monitors and these is the RGB backlight as opposed to the white one more everyday monitors come with. You can read about the technology here, and why you should look for a monitor which has them:

https://pcmonitors.info/articles/the-evolution-of-led-backlights/

This technology is of course expensive, and not normally economic to produce, but you haven't specified any kind of a budget at all so it's all completely meaningless.

What exactly is cheap? you should at this end of the market be looking for a 10 bit panel which has a 99% sRGB coverage, a UHD one is also desirable, Gamma at as close to 2.2 as possible.

Look at the Philips 328P6VJEB just shy of £600 as an example

Would the above with also be good for gaming?

27 / 1440 / IPS and G Sync?

Don't think any GSYNC monitors have the colour reproduction OP is asking for.

If you're asking whether that combination is good for gaming without needing nailed on colour accuracy then yes, 27" 1440p monitors have been really popular for gaming in the last few years, even better if you get a higher hz model, lots of 144hz ones about.

Does G Sync affect colour reproduction?

I had the Dell S2716DG and it was lovely for gaming but awful for pictures so sold it on.

I have a 27 Hazro and it's picture is lovely but having got a little used to G Sync in gaming, the tearing is very jarring now.

I'm unsure whether the tech limits colour reproduction, there's people who post in this section far more qualified than me to answer that, if I recall correctly the GSYNC module limits options for tweaking though.

I think it's just down to GSYNC not being required on professional colour reproduction monitors, the techs primary use is gaming so it's a different sector of the monitor market. You likely could buy an IPS GSYNC screen and get it calibrated very close to accuracy but I'm pretty sure professional monitors have much more uniform panels and far better quality control.
