Hi, I was wondering if someone could give me a little help in choosing between these 3 monitors.

I realise that the first one has the most "gaming technology" I guess you could say in it, but for me I just want the best looking monitor, I don't really care about any extra stuff like a couple of milliseconds more lag between monitor and ps3 etc. Jus't want the best possible picture when playing my games.

I bought an LG monitor a little while ago and the objects and stuff in-game while playing on the PS3 are hideously jagged on their edges and flicker quite a bit :/ , which doesn't happen nearly as much on my pretty low spec hdtv downstairs, and which ruins the whole experience of playing, so which is why I want the best looking picture possible.

So out of these, which would you recommend? Or if you know of another monitor that you think is better for a similar price and screen size then please let me know.

It will be used solely for gaming on my PS3.

Thanks in advance.

links are broken...

the stuff in game is supposed to be hideously jagged, hardly any console games use AA, or at least not very much of it, you don't see it on the TV because you sit further away from it, this applies to the flicker as well

Links fixed.

Hmm, maybe. But when I tested it on my TV I sat just as close as I do my monitor in order for it to be a fair comparison and it definitely wasn't as bad.
And Killzone 2 and GT5 both use AA and the problem is equally evident in them.

So I guess what you're suggesting is that I get a larger sized monitor and then I can sit further away from it?
Because if I sit far away from this 22" monitor then you can't really see any small details.

I have the space to sit far away from it.

Personally I would just get a TV, as most of the advantages of PC monitors (high DPI, >1080p resolution, 120hz, DVI input etc) are wasted on console gaming.

As an example you can get Sony Bravia KDL32EX403U LCD HD 1080p Television, 32 inch with Built-in Freeview HD & free 5 Year warranty and free delivery £299.99 @ John Lewis.

I'm not saying that model would necessarily make a great screen for PS3 but my dad has one and it is very good as a TV. But the general principle is you get a lot more for your money if you buy a TV and not a monitor. For console gaming the bigger than better when it comes to screen size and since the PS3 won't go over 1080p resolution there is really no need for a high end monitor.

I have been looking at that TV actually.

I just thought as I'm only using it with my PS3, I don't need anything more that just a monitor to play it on, and monitors are generally cheaper.

PS3 games only use 60 hertz so there isn't much point in that 1st one. I don't need an extremely high quality one, just good enough to give a nice sharp image while gaming.

I would just get a samsung BX2450 or simply the cheapest 24" with at least 1xDVI and 1xVGA I don't consider hdmi important when you can get the exact same pic quality using an hdmi to dvi cable.

I am due to get a new monitor soon my samsung 226BW needs new capacitors soldered to it kind of almost put me off buying samsung again but caps can go bad on any monitor.
The samsung is the one I ended up thinking the one to get and the BX2450 came top of pcm's 2010 monitors of the year awards.

I think it's pretty cool how the monitors PSU is an external power brick too.
