Hi All

I am looking to upgrade my ancient work monitor setup to something a bit more snazzy.

I am looking at the Dell U2515 ADZG at the moment, but this is a 2 year old model now by the looks of things... Is there anything newer I should be looking at? Are there any forthcoming updates to the Dell range? A google search yields nothing really concrete.

I know the 25" screen size is good for me, as we have these at work and I have played around with having it a similar distance/ setup to how it would be at home. As a guide, I can't have my monitor any further than about arm's length away from me (I can just about touch my current screen with my fingertips from where I am sat now) due to desk depth, so I am wondering if one of the newer, larger Dell models might also work or would it just be too large for the distance?

Personally you cannot go wrong with the Dell U2515, I had one briefly a couple of months ago and regretted selling it (went back to 24" due to FPS gaming limitations using a 1060, but after experiencing 1440p, I simply couldn't go back to 1080p and opted to go back to 1440p paired with a 1070). Probably the best 25" 1440p monitor under £300 in my opinion.

The U2515 maybe a couple of years old in terms of availability but it is still pushed out as one of their main models throughout Dell's monitor range.

There is also the Dell UP2516D which is newer but I remember reading online a while back when looking into a 25" monitor that it's not really worth the extra £50 on average when compared to the Dell U2515, as both were said to perform very similar.

Thanks LEK-89, that is good to know.

They seem very expensive too compared to their historical prices (esp. as it is an old-ish model now). Is this just the Brexit effect? Do you think prices will come down again?

Indeed the prices have fluctuated a lot recently which like you say is mostly down to Brexit, but the same goes for a lot of other things besides monitors.

Have a scout online at other places - when I got my U2515 I only paid £260 for it and that was brand new. It was purchased from a retailer who I cannot mention but they are a Dell partner I believe & obtain new monitors directly from Dell which are part of old / unsold stock.
