I've tried looking on forums, review websites and they all have different opinions it's driving me crazy! All I really want is a monitor to play my xbox 360 on. I know some stuff about computers but I get confused on stuff like people say TN panels are bad and don't get them. Then a review says that monitor is good! So I'm really confused and now I need some help...I know what I need it's just the advanced stuff which I get stuck on...Here's the specs the monitor should have: 1080p full HD, 1(preferably 2) HDMI ports, Speakers (even though reviews say they are crap and I'll just have to use my headset), 23''-24'' size, 5ms or under and if you can have it LED backlight? something like that...

My mate at work says he has the P2370? and it is rubbish and his son has the Acer X233H but says it only has a DVI input...Please can someone help me out because I really need to get a monitor

TN panels aren't bad as such, they're just not as good as IPS panels (or the other one I've momentarily forgotten the name of). The others will give a better colour gamut (range and accuracy of colours), more consistent brightness and better contrast etc.

However, they are not required for gaming by any stretch of the imagination - they are more useful for photo editing and the like where real colour is what is important. The latency is often worse than the equivalent TN panel with an IPS, which is worse for gaming.

They are also more expensive than TN panels.

So, to summarise, TN panels are not as good quality (visually) as their more expensive brethren, but are just fine for gaming - especially on a 360.

You may need a DVI-HDMI adapter (or what does the 360 take?) which are readily available as most monitors now have a DVI port.

i use a T240 (monitor) for my xbox which is connected by HDMI and just plug in speakers with a 3.5mm jack

and the DVI connection for my computer

p.s. theres two types of T240's one being a tv and the other a computer monitor, i use the computer monitor which comes with 2 DVI's, 1 HDMI and some sound inputs and outputs.
