Best Monitor

I've been doing a lot of research as I want the same thing you want
Its the best all around monitor I've ever seen reviewed... good for pretty much everything, and on top of that, based on what I've read here in OCUK forums.. NEC warranty service is top class.
The thing that caught my eyes with this monitor (looking at the reviews.) is the input lag... less than most 24'' with TN panel which is an amazing achievement.
But unfortunately, I can't have it as I need a dual screen setup and just don't have that much cash at my disposal
