I've got my hands on 8x sticks of 2Gb DDR2 400 CL3 ECC Reg memory, and I'm loath to throw it away, so I was wondering if you guys could recommend the best/most current board that can handle the memory (ideally all 8, but I'm open to ideas).
I know it's not the fastest memory, and the ECC Reg bit limits my options, but I'd like to build a workstation for virtualising and 3D rendering. I'm flexible as to taking 1 or 2 (or more?) CPUs with 2 or 4 cores each. It would be nice if it could also take a good graphics card setup so I can do a little gaming as well, but that isn't it's main purpose.
So - give me some ideas at different budgets, and we'll see what I can put together
