Best mouse for gaming?

10 sense. LOL how can you aim.....

You must shake like a beast.

I don't shake like a beast, I aim like a beast :p

As I said, only got it recently. Got used to it after a few hours. gaming was no problem for me.

i was never too good at PC games tbh, so not like I aimed too well before. Only problem is when I have to move a real bit. Then it gets hard :P

Loads said the Mamba in a thread I made like this a while back but I decided to go for the Roccat Kone and I love the mouse, it goes up to 6000 DPI, you can put weights in it to make it a little heavier and I find the buttons are perfect for my man sized hands.

Yep great mouse :D

I went from a 3G deathadder to this:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-001-GI

Its better in everyway possible. People only stick by the Deathadder and MX518 because they havnt tried a better mouse.

This Gigabyte one is the same as an £70 mouse from Razer or Logitech, but costs a lot less. 6000 DPI, adjustable weights, strong braided capable, and customisable colour on the backlight.

It also has a slider button under the wheel that lets you instantly swap between 4 customisable DPI settings.

No it doesn't...I'm using one at the moment...never experienced it turning itself off unless its left inactive, even then it turns itself back on instantly.

Anyway, generally the most popular on this forum are the Deathadder and the MX518, however I would urge you to try before you buy, I for instance love Razers mouse design and find the most of Logitechs to be too large, however thats me.

As above I have a Mamba and I've never had an issue with in in day to day use, it's solid, comfortable and wireless but you can switch it to wired in 2 seconds.

It does, there's a problem with the lift off distance and the laser switching itself off. I'm a low sens player and when I tried lifting my mouse off the mat and replacing it'd take a split second to do anything. Added onto the fact that when you do place it back down it'll jump to the bottom right slightly. The sensor on it is just plain crap.

It's basically a wireless Deathadder with a few difference, most of them aren't good ones. I have both a Mamba and a Deathadder sitting here and there's a reason why I use the Deathadder for gaming and the Mamba just to impress my console buddies.

All in all, don't waste time/money on a Mamba, or any gaming mouse costing more than £40 or so. Most people that take games seriously stick to MX518/G400/Deathadder/Xai (Although the Xai has 5% hardware acceleration that can't be disabled).

Don't get the Mamba, it turns itself off if you lift it off the pad, so does Imperator.

Deathadders a great mouse, as is MX518/G400

Ive used the Mamba since it was released... It does not turn itself off when you lift, how daft would that be for a gaming mouse (i cant speak for the Imperator).

Mamba is decent, if it broke tomorrow i would buy another.

A lot of people have picked the DeathAdder, it's a good mouse to be sure BUT I've just changed fro mthe deathadder to the R.A.T 5, and never looked back it out performs the deathadder at everything a much better mouse..

There is no 'best' mouse. It is a very personal thing. You either palm it or 'claw' it, you either like lots of buttons for macros or you do not. It is one of those items where it really is best to try them out in person first.

For me I like things quality, comfortable and simple. I last settled on the Steelseries XAI and I am very happy with it.

I'm using a Mamba at the moment and it's awesome, I've had no issues at all.

It might be an idea if to see ifyou can play about with a few in your local Pc store, that way you can get a feel of how they fit in your hand and how comfy they are.

I like my R.A.T.7, fully customisable and has a button to help with aiming, the only problem it is a little bit big for my hand

Just to echo most peoples comments, it's a very subjective decision.

The first 'gaming' mouse I had was the Razer Copperhead, which I thought was good.... Until I bought a Logitech G5, which I found infintely more comfortable and just better in every way.

I suppose this puts me in the 'palm' rather than the 'claw' camp. If you can't try before you buy then look at how you hold a mouse and make a decision based on that.

I think that most people go with Logitech or Razer (Using this forums as a guide), so I think you could do worse than picking one of those 2.

The Copperhead I use on my 2nd PC has started double clicking, so I'm looking to replace it - I will definitely be choosing a Logitech mouse, just not sure which.

The gaming mice I have used are the G5, Deathadder and M6900. They've all been very good though I'd probably give the most praise overall to the M6900 (on par with the Deathadder and more comfortable than the G5), especially when you consider how cheap it is.
