Best Movie Games

I dunno, Lego LOTR (only Lego game I've played tbh) follows the movies reasonably closely... Can't really say the same for most of the games in this thread :p

Not the best film but another one to throw in the hat and that is Alien 3 on the Super Nintendo or Megadrive.
The game was pretty good back in the day.

I'm going to go with the following 3 -

Goldeneye on the N64, obviously
Lion King for the Mega Drive (that damn music when you're jumping on giraffe's heads... OH I JUST CAN'T WAIT TO BE KIIIING)
Aladdin for the Mega Drive, cracking platformer.

sub-par films inspired by games, courtesy of Uwe Boll
Bloodrayne - Christiana Loken, Ben Kingsley and Meatloaf
(scary thing is there have been at least two bloodrayne sequels)
In the Name of The King (Dungeon Siege) - Jason Statham

Sticking to PC only as there used to be a lot of movie games on older platforms, and also only games that that some sort of proper connection to movies rather than just games loosely based on the lore/franchise (otherwise one could reel off a list of Star Wars games...)

-Chronicles of Riddick
-Aliens: Colonial Marines. Don't laugh.... I thought it actually captured the feeling quite well in places in terms of sound effects (motion tracker + pulse rifle = epicwinmuchness). From what I can gather a lot of reviews were written before a ~4GB patch was released so maybe I would have felt differently had I played it earlier.

In general games based on movies suck but that is perhaps not totally surprising given the different objectives (2hr completely on rails story vs 8hr+ interactive adventure). In other words a movie has the luxury of knowing that every single thing that makes the cut will be seen and thus can be done to a high standard versus games where the content has to be spread much thinner. This is why as I alluded to earlier some 'franchises' can spawn good games if the lore is very strong even if trying to simply convert a movie may end in tears.
