I'm a fiend for old stuff like The Last Ninja, Commando, Hysteria(if anyone remembers that game), basically stuff made on the c64. People like rob hubbard fill me with a fantastically nerdy joy. Chiptune fetish aside, I'm interested in what other people think. Memorable music in games.

Unreal / Unreal Tournament :)

MGS has always had memorable music, and I still love the music from streets of rage 2.

Grand Theft Auto Vice City had amazing music too :D

I only remember how awesome Quake 2 music was. You cant really take game like GTA as it has commercial music in it, its like picking Guitar Hero game for great music in it.

Final Fantasy or Metal Gear series take it for me.

Favorites?

MGS 1 - Main Theme
FFVII - You Can Hear the Cry of the Planet

Nothing even comes close to being as perfect as those two are.

Every time I see one of these threads I always say.......

i76 [...]
I couldn't agree more. I was listening to the i76 soundtrack album the other day, and it ticks all the boxes: evocative, superb musicianship, daaaaaaamn funky, and perfectly captures the spirit of the game's overt fondness for the era.

Probably the antithesis of chiptunes, but hey.

Also, I'm disappointed that no wag has yet said "Audiosurf" :p

EDIT: Get yo' Seven-Six funk from here! :)
